Character Analysis

Accreditation

CCMPS is accredited by ABAP (American Board for Accreditation in Psychoanalysis), www.abapinc.org, which in turn is a member of ASPA (Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors) www.aspa-usa.org

ABAP, Inc. is a member accreditor in ASPA, whose goals are to promote quality and integrity in accreditation. Membership in ASPA has placed Psychoanalysis at the same table with fields such as Allied Health, Counseling, Health Education, Marriage and Family Therapy, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, Teacher Education, and others. Institutes accredited by ABAP must conform to strict standards regarding educational requirements and ethics, and also demonstrate a capacity for self-examination through periodic reaccredidation.

ABAP's membership in ASPA in turn requires it to meet the same standards as other accrediting bodies such as those mentioned above.

Because of this accreditation students who acquire their certification at CCMPS are eligible to be registered by NAAP (National Association for the Advancement of Psychonalysis) www.naap.org, giving them a registration number and a listing in the yearly Directory. In New Jersey, New York State and Vermont NAAP registration now allows psychoanalysts to apply for state licensure as psychoanalysts and NAAP is pushing for more and more states to recognize psychoanalysis as an independent profession.

As an Institute accredited by ABAP, we follow ABAP's Member Code of Good Practice
